There are many different types of "writer's block" I hope these list of tips, do's , and don'ts helps you with whatever type of writing or creative block you may be facing.
1. Don't Over Think It.
When starting a new book, chapter, or drawing; some people [including myself] Find them selves staring at a blank page. What I have learned from my experience is to NEVER sit and think about it. The only thing you will accomplish is making yourself more confused and agitated. What you should do is, take a step back; breath, and let your thoughts flow. Soon you'll be drawing a head shape. Then a neck, then the torso. Until eventually you have a master piece. With writing it's even simpler. When a plot pops into you're head, you will write the title, than the first line or two. Soon you will find yourself switching into you're right brain. Soon you will have a whole chapter.
2. Don't be afraid if you'r piece looks like someone else's.
All stories are based off of the six same plot lines. And most great artist, borrowed aspects of there art work from somebody else. As an author and an artist, I have learned most of what I know from reading other people's works, and admiring other great artist. Don't feel like you have stolen anything from anyone else if you have the same art or writing style as another person.
3. Make it Express you.
Don't create something if it is just the new trend or people think it's cool. Don't create something doesn't express you, what you stand for,or what you like. Or else it won't mean as much to you. And in the arts, such as writing, drawing, singing, All that matters is that you enjoy what you are making and are having fun.
I hope you found these tips useful. If you have anymore please email them to me and I will be sure to include them in a future blog. Have a great day.
